Meet Roger - Below Knee Amputee Shortly after his amputation, Roger was faced with the tough (but critical) decision of choosing a prosthetic facility for his care. His Orthopedic Surgeon suggested a place that THEY were familiar with, however it was not a place that Roger felt comfortable going. Though it was a very tough decision to go against his surgeons’ recommendation, he chose Fourroux Prosthetics for his care. “I think maybe the Surgeon had an affiliation with the other facility and that’s the reason for the recommendation, but I just wasn’t comfortable with that particular group. I had a stronger connection with Kim and with Fourroux, that’s all.” said Roger. Roger’s past knowledge of Fourroux Prosthetics and a recent visit by Kim Duckett, Fourroux Amputee Counselor & Practitioner, had convinced him that Fourroux is where he wanted to receive his prosthetic care. Rogers care began at Fourroux Prosthetics immediately. He was introduced to the Fourroux Prosthetics staff and began learning about life as an amputee and wearing an artificial limb. Their conversations soon carried over into what kind of lifestyle Roger lead in the past, and how he wanted to lead his life in the future. Fourroux Staff, Roger & his family, began to put a plan into place, which included a state-of-the-art prosthesis, a Physical Therapy and follow-up plan and Roger soon found himself up and mobile again. Though Roger had initial hesitation when first becoming an amputee (which is normal), his road to recovery and a normal lifestyle has gone very well. His outlook on life since his amputation has changed dramatically, and he is currently living life to the fullest. Thank you Roger, for allowing us to provide you prosthetic care.
